There is really only one way to stop the oil volcano: a nuclear blast. A conventional explosive will just not suffice. People should know that the pressure wave of a subterranean explosion diminishes as the cubed root of the distance. This means that a nuclear blast will have no effect beyond about 1/2 mile. So it will not affect the thousand other riser pipes in the Gulf. If it's within about 1,000 feet, it will crush the 21" steel pipe and stop the flow.

None of the other "solutions" have any chance to be effective at all!

What this really means is we need to begin drilling a hole for a nuclear device about 200 feet from the gushing pipe NOW!

The most difficult aspect of this will be the design of the systems that triggers the device. But this can be worked out. The deeper the detonation, the less radionuclide contamination will be released. So we would want it it to be 2,500 to 15,000 feet deep.

But to do this WE MUST BEGIN DRILLING THE HOLE NOW!

Are we doing this? There is no sign of it. This is well worth protesting about-!!!

BP contracted Schlumberger (SLB) to run the Cement Bond Log (CBL) test that was the final test on the plug that was skipped. The people testifying have been very coy about mentioning this, and you'll see why.

SLB is an extremely highly regarded (and incredibly expensive) service company. They place a high standard on safety and train their workers to shut down unsafe operations.

SLB gets out to the Deepwater Horizon to run the CBL, and they find the well still kicking heavily, which it should not be that late in the operation. SLB orders the "company man" (BP's man on the scene that runs the operation) to dump kill fluid down the well and shut-in the well. The company man refuses. SLB in the very next sentence asks for a helo [helicopter] to take all SLB personel back to shore. The company man says there are no more helo's scheduled for the rest of the week (translation: you're here to do a job, now do it). SLB gets on the horn to shore, calls SLB's corporate HQ, and gets a helo flown out there at SLB's expense and takes all SLB personel to shore.

6 hours later, the platform explodes.

There was no word of any opposition supporters on the streets on Wednesday, despite talk of demonstrations on reformist websites. Foreign media are restricted from moving around to report on such protests, which are illegal.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich is pushing for a timetable for U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich plans to force a House of Representatives vote early next year on whether to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Cleveland Democrat announced Wednesday that he has begun circulating a letter to colleagues that asks if they'd be willing to co-sponsor his two resolutions to "trigger a timeline for a timely withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan and Pakistan."

Although President Barack Obama has said prior congressional actions permit him to respond militarily to the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, Kucinich says Congress can still revisit the war. He says that the United States should keep trying to bring Osama bin Laden to justice but that pursuing wars throughout the Middle East backfires by inflaming anti-American sentiment.

The White House had no comment on Kucinich's plans.

Kucinich said he was motivated to act by hearing Afghan President Hamid Karzai assert that his country will probably need U.S. financial aid and training for the next 15 to 20 years.

"We shouldn't be there another 15 to 20 months, let alone 15 to 20 years," Kucinich said. "We can't afford the loss of lives. We can't afford the loss of taxpayers' money. We've got to get our priorities straight."

ACTA is an international agreement that aims to target piracy and counterfeiting globally. The degree of secrecy surrounding the negotiations is astonishing. Many institutions, the press and various individuals have requested that participating countries provide an insight into their plans, but none have succeeded thus far.

While the public is denied access to drafts of the controversial agreement, lawmakers continue to receive input from anti-piracy lobbyists such as the RIAA and MPAA. Today, the 6th round of ACTA negotiations have started in Seoul, South Korea, where representatives from the U.S, the European Union, Canada, Australia and several other countries will discuss the treaty's content.

Farming, industry, and its requisite technology, some service functions, and some other functions can support proportionate community contributivity. Economics should be the study of the means to achieve proportionate contributivity. If you are raising 100 cattle, and you need 10,000,000 cattle, you experience deficient contributivity of cattle. If you are raising a billion cattle, but only need a million, you have plethoric contributivity of cattle.

The result of our imperialism has been that certain of our erstwhile colonies have achieved proportionate contributivity, while we have degenerated into a condition of disproportionate contributivity. We have far too many bean counters, psychotherapists, "executives," prisoners, etc, etc, etc. (even prisoners sitting in cells can be contributive if they warn others to stay clear of legal troubles.) Our vast "service industries" are mostly a manifestation of plethoric contributivity. The destruction of our industrial base represents the advent of a form of deficient contributivity. Our current condition of disproportionate contributivity will prove to be catastrophic.

Our deficiency of manufacturing contributivity will surely lead to military impotence. And that would be our downfall.

The reconstitution of an industrial base is not something that can be accomplished by merely allocating money! Mechanical clocks were only developed in the 14th century; rail transport in the 18th century. Industry does not just spring up in the night like a mushroom. Workers must be conditioned and trained. Precise tools must be obtained. A vast array of materials must be gathered from many places. Most importantly, a synergy must arise to support an integrated system of production. This could well take a century to accomplish. Meanwhile, our most unfortunate population has been conditioned to perceive physical labor as menial and base, as "clean handed" service work has come to betoken elevated status. The primary massage has been "go to school so you can work with your brain instead of your back." And our current wretched condition of disproportionate contributivity has been the result!

On its present course, the unfortunate USA is poised to collapse.
