Eighty-two percent of our expenses are personnel issues ... The only thing we can control is employment numbers, which we don't want to reduce. We have to make sure we keep people in Reed City, when you lose teachers you lose students.

I have no idea if that's an authentic Saladin quote, but I like it (3.00 / 1)

So J. Patrick Bedell shoots up the Pentagon Metro entrance. (0.00 / 0)
You do a search on his name, you get, of course, 60,000 entries.

Do a search on his name from 2000 to 3/1/2010 and you get 119 hits, of which 115 are bad time stamps talking about his actions today.

You also get two talking on an Adobe Acrobat forum, and one talking about his favorite running route, using jpbedell@netcom.com.

You go to favoriteruns.com and they give you "your ip address is banned" for any IP address you use. (I have several)

Hmmmm. Think there are 200 computer guys combing the web for his spoor, and locking down anything useful?

Well after the third or fourth time I'd expect as much. No more public manifeastos. (0.00 / 0)

My hope is to use the creativity of markets and advanced technology to transcend the destructive regimes that have fastened themselves upon the world. I have dreamed for an number of years of creating v:production econosystems, which I hope to apply to the creation of v:security service econosystems using new and economic mechanisms and information technology.

I have a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and studied biochemistry at San Jose State University. I've studied electrical engineering with the goal of creating microsystems for molecular analysis.[1][2][3][4] You can see a proposal to use aluminum anodization as an adsorption method for DNA molecules on CMOS chips at v:DNA_integrated_circuit/proposal_import_2007 (which originates from an unsuccessful DARPA proposal to create a "microMIRV" interoperable with standard firearms ammunition), and a proposal to use xenon difluoride to create a picoliter-scale computer-controlled device for sorting biomolecules (available at v:Capillary_electrode_array/proposal_import_2007), including DNA and protein molecules. My goals include the discovery of a protein sequence for the diamondase enzyme, enabling the creation of macroscale diamond structures, and the creation of self-assembled macrosystems with CMOS DNA-integrated circuits. The scale of these and other projects have led me to develop financial instruments representing information as a tool to manage large projects that are very knowledge-intensive.

I am determined to see that justice is served in the death of Colonel James Sabow, as a step toward establishing the truth of events such as the September 11 demolitions and institutions such as the coup regime of 1963 that maintains itself in power through the global drug trade, financial corruption, and murder, among other crimes. My work to develop information currency is an effort to create a framework for information management that uses financial markets to create the economic signals (prices) that will effect complex human actions in the real world based on specified information. My desire for justice led me to violate what I think is one of the most unjust laws, cannabis prohibition, by growing 16 cannabis plants on my balcony in Irvine, CA from March 2006 to June 2006. I've posted the Orange County, CA District Attorney's complaint for this offense at http://cannabis.wikia.com/wiki... .

One desired result of my effort is (will be) billions and billions of carefully cultivated, highly valuable cannabis plants growing throughout the United States with complete security of property. I have posted the image to the right in order to illustrate the use of cannabis as a monetary system using digital financial instruments. There are two information currency units in each of the PDF417 codes pictured. One of the information currency units is drawn from a series with "one gram cannabis" with the underlying asset, and the second ICU in each code has as its underlying asset the URL http://www.mises.org/humanacti... and the SHA-1 digest value of the file at that location (fd8205cb8b4793d43b57ba6f6c7367aa700c307a). This is a way of associating the work of Ludwig von Mises with financial value, which may be a tool to implement his ideas in reality. I hope someday to see full-reserve banking and observance of Article One, Section 10 of the US Constitution.

I apologize for the graphic content of some of my contributions, but detailed evidence is sometimes necessary to address important matters. I am very disturbed by the fact that Col. Sabow's civilian superiors and their successors have been able to continue their narco-mercantilism. For historical comparison, I might resemble the odd German still complaining about the murders of the Night of the Long Knives in 1938(?). Of course, Wikipedia didn't exist in 1938!

I am looking for collaborators for ongoing commercial and intellectual efforts. Email to jpbedell at mises.com is welcome!

He is/was another thinker bashed by a crazy society. (0.00 / 0)

I read anarcho-socialist, a la Chomsky.

Willing to follow the rules if they're administered fairly.

Which they're not. That bothers some people a lot, makes their tummy all churny alla time.

After a while, toxic events can occur, from frustration and confinement to reality that sucks.

Lot of similarities to Stack, of plane/IRS office fame.

We'll be seeing more of them.

Anger, anger, anger.

Gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em.

But sometimes people decide to rage against the night.

It's what moves society forward, much more so than quiet desperation.

Don't think that the psywar experts aren't ticking off these events, feeding them into their psychohistorian equations, adjusting the public speeches, re-allocating the funds, changing who to prosecute, who to evaluate.

At some time, it will become clear to them that we've reached the tipping point, and they will scramble to pass single payer, regulate banks, join the world community and SHARE.

Hope they know what they're doing.

google jarred the botmost recently (3.67 / 3)
the botmost was reading a comment thread here using the words "affect" and "effect.  Due to a programming error at its creation, the botmost found it necessary to clarify the proper usage of these terms.  google suggests possible searches as you begin to type in what you are looking for.  The botmost began to type in "difference betwe..." and the very first thing that popped up was "difference between affect and effect" before the botmost was finished typing.  And due to another programming error, the botmost had misspelled "difference" and still google somehow knew what the botmost wanted. The botmost can only conclude that somehow google knew what page the botmost had been viewing immediately before performing the search and made an assumption which turned out to be correct.  The botmost really did not need that much help.

Scary.

oh right sure (5.00 / 3)
The Obama administration lifted the veil Tuesday on a highly-secretive set of policies to defend the U.S. from cyber attacks.

It was an open secret that the National Security Agency was bolstering a Homeland Security program to detect and respond to cyber attacks on government systems, but a summary of that program declassified Tuesday provides more details of NSA's role in a Homeland program known as Einstein.

The current version of the program is widely seen as providing meager protection against attack, but a new version being built will be more robust-largely because it's rooted in NSA technology. The program is designed to look for indicators of cyber attacks by digging into all Internet communications, including the contents of emails, according to the declassified summary.

Homeland Security will then strip out identifying information and pass along data on new threats to NSA. It will also use threat information from NSA to better identify emerging cyber attacks.

Why not? Do you understand the level of speed and completeness with which (0.00 / 0)
Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc comb the Internet? You think this site isn't indexed?

Try this: go to Google and set up the feature that emails you every time they find an instance of "doberman pinche".

They'll send you this post, and every one you've ever made.

I know, for instance, that nulwee at DK has my name in his/her sig line, so I get every post that's made. Likewise with that sick fuck socrates, who has picked me for one of his campaigns.

It's OK. I have a couple tricks, subtle.

Hurt Locker Represents the Lowest Form of "Art" (5.00 / 3)
I allowed myself to fall asleep during Hurt Locker..in order to avoid watching the glorification of the Mid East wars, and it really wasn't a problem, I began to snore I was told by the people I was with and was in and out of consciousness for the rest of the film.

Hurt Schlocker is a PRO WAR FILM and Hollywood's controlling elite are PRO WAR in the MID EAST and that's why it won over the other film AVATAR which is a ANTI WAR film.

Neither film is really anything special. Better movies are made all the time for very little money...especially in Europe where films about relationships are made, instead of films about explosions.

I had to watch the Oscars just now and became sick. Especially sickening was that young actor guy who looks like one of the Jonas Brothers and of course the plastic faces of all the great talents who exhibit their ability in the art form called "acting"....which requires nothing more than the skill of being comfortable while making faces in front of a camera  and then editing everything to make it look better than it ever was.

Film acting is the lowest form of art. That's why they can get people right off the street to do it. It requires nothing more than feeling comfortable in front of a camera...then it looks real...because it is.

It's disgusting that acting receives so much attention over the other arts...arts that require intensive, unpleasant labor to develop ones ability.

Car Wars! (4.00 / 2)

the CARnage continues unabated!

An out-of-control SUV slammed into five people in a Brooklyn church parking lot yesterday, killing a 40-year-old woman and injuring four, including a young girl and a baby, police said.

Kyongkoo Park, 72, from Queens, lost control of the black 2010 Mercedes shortly after 2:45 p.m., careening in reverse for about 25 feet through a children's play area at the Pyeong Ahn Presbyterian Church, scattering the terrified parishioners before barreling into a van, police said.

Sung Won Cho, the mother of two sons and a beloved member of the McDonald Avenue church, was killed.

SUNDAY TRAGEDY: A man cries over the draped body of a woman killed when an SUV (top left, behind church van) plowed into Brooklyn churchgoers yesterday."People were standing by the van and they were trying to keep the children away. Everyone was screaming," said a neighbor, Brian Fan.

Two other women, 41 and 36, a girl, 10, and a year-old boy were taken to Lutheran Medical Center, but their injuries weren't life-threatening. No charges were filed against Park.

As long as Amerikkkans are senselessly killing other Amerikkkans (2.00 / 1)
its OK with the fakeleft.

And if its only Korean immigrants senselessly killing other korean immigrants then its more than OK---the whiteysphere stands and applauds.

Every dead immigrant is one less competitor for a lost job that no white man would take, anyway.

I wonder if the dude in the SUV lost control of his vehicle while hunting the neighborhood for some four legged victuals?

is this true? (4.00 / 1)
i was just reading the comments to an article posted on alternet about ptsd and pharmaceuticals.

I have PTSD from being a sex-crime victim, and a year ago they gave me Seroquel, even though I told them I remembered a bad reaction I'd had to it previously. The clinic I went to had a policy, they would only see people if they were on a pharmaceutical drug. That seems to be the policy of all donation funded non-profits providing free health care in California, you have to be on one of their drugs.
http://www.alternet.org/world/...

Do any of you california peeps know if that's true? If so, does anyone think it's a bit unethical?
