Is being dyslexic more of a handicap than being black?

John McWhorter makes too much sense...

If you can't read it through, that's his point.

Another test by the arrogant intellectual. (3.00 / 1)
Guy busts ass to pass test; soft bigotry makes it a waste of time.

As noted elsewhere, laws are not always internally consistent. (0.00 / 0)
So it did no certify and the high scorers sued. Scalia and Alito say in thier questioning that two parts of Title V11 are at war with each other: disparate impact as against disparate treatment.

As a systems analyst, one must always consider that the law fails because is attempting to do the impossible.

In this case, as McWhorter points out, it may be trying to neutralize the effects of growing up absurd.

Some subcultures use the language orally, some analytically.

Ask mplo. Ask Lauren S. Ask NeoCon. Hell, ask me.

I know from personal experience, many of them, that a black person who speaks "college" will face verbal hostility from the black subculture. After living in Berkeley for several years, I started an alternative newspaper in Spokane. I had to change my entire way of speaking and thinking, partly because my audience could not.

A liberal education allows intellectual empathy. A conservative one does not.

What's wrong with this? (0.00 / 0)
JUSTICE SOUTER: And it -- I cannot conceive that Congress intended to put a city into that situation saying you've either got to blunder ahead into a losing lawsuit in court, or you have got to stop and expose yourself to another lawsuit which you can only win by proving that you at least had taken some steps in violating the law the first time. That is inconceivable.

Why is a congressional mistake inconceivable?

He's worried that congress will have to relegislate this piece of puke law.

We are still moving around within the midieval guild system (0.00 / 0)
and the newcomer has a hard time. I find the entire testing system stupid and just a higher level of Trivial Pursuit. It has no bearing on what you really know and what you really need to know to do the job. Just a way of measuring to come up with a number to use for adinistrative purposes.

I guess I am going to write something on dyslexia. Please read it. It's just another trumped up word to use for whatever purposes one can use it for.

How is it possible to even opine (0.00 / 0)
when we still don't know anything about the actual test?

Especially when the commentary's from The New Republic ?

(So Ormond reads The New Republic, Newsweek, ....???)

I read everything that looks interesting. You gotta problem wid dat? (0.00 / 0)

I don't use the internet as an echo chamber. Boring.

I'm more into the Aleph Point aspect of it.
